We have chosen Jack this happy holiday pup to close out 2018 as our December fan of the month. As you all know when your dog is diagnosed with diabetes things change, including the food you can give your dog. Here is what Jack's mom said about finding treats for Jack.
"When Jack was diagnosed with diabetes about 18 months ago we had to change all his food. I did an internet search for diabetic treats and found your company. I have felt comfortable from the beginning giving him these treats and he enjoys them. He gets half a cookie before breakfast and half after dinner. He's blind, has arthritis and diabetes but it's all about quality of life and these treats add to his quality of life."
Jack's mom is right quality is important! Not all treats are the same and many are full of fats, sugars, flavorings, excess salt, and even chemicals. All of which add no value and can even be very bad for dogs. As we move into 2019 whether you have a diabetic dog or not, we encourage all pet parents to read the ingredients of the treats you are giving your dog. You want to see foods you would eat yourself, no preservatives, no chemicals no ingredients you can't pronounce and absolutely no by-products. We love treats and so do our dogs, they make us all happy but please remember less is often more!
Meet our August Old Dog fan of the month. Bessie has diabetes, IBD, IBS, Allergies and Acid Reflux. She has been on a strict diet with NO treats, until her pet mom found our Diabetic Tiny Treats. We hope you will check out how this "boss girl" finally got to indulge again!
Meet O.D. Named for the Police Officer (Officer Davis) who was able to catch this stray and get him off the streets, so he could then be adopted. O.D's diabetic journey began 4 years ago and so did his love for Old Dog Diabetic treats. O.D. has an amazing veterinarian team and does Libre Sensor monitoring every 6 months. O.D's mom told us his vet team "is pleased with his insulin numbers and he's as healthy as a diabetic dog can be!"
One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is getting to know the incredible dogs (and their devoted humans) who choose our treats. Meet Khloe, this very fashionable girl was diagnosed with diabetes twice!
