Meet Bessie! This sweet Yorkie-Poodle mix has a story as special as she is. Rescued at just 11 weeks old from a tough situation, Bessie found her forever home with a loving pet momma who’s been by her side through every twist and turn.
Born on January 15, 2015, Bessie has faced her share of health challenges over the years. She has IBD, IBS, allergies, acid reflux and diabetes. For the past seven years, she’s been on a strict prescription of wet food diet with no treats allowed. That is why it means so much to her family to have finally found something she can safely enjoy, Old Dog Diabetic Tiny Treats!
Her mom told us, “It does my heart good to see her enjoy these treats.” And after so many years without a single treat, we can only imagine how exciting that first bite must have been.
Bessie also lives with allergies, so her signature short haircut helps her feel more comfortable and confident year around. Through it all she remains resilient, loving, and full of joy, and now she can have the treats she so well deserves.
We’re honored to be a small part of Bessie’s story and to see her light up with happiness over something so simple yet meaningful. Thank you to her wonderful mom for rescuing her, loving her, and sharing her journey with us. Her mom said to us, "she is my boss." Bessie is a true inspiration and we are glad to have her as our fan!
Meet O.D. Named for the Police Officer (Officer Davis) who was able to catch this stray and get him off the streets, so he could then be adopted. O.D's diabetic journey began 4 years ago and so did his love for Old Dog Diabetic treats. O.D. has an amazing veterinarian team and does Libre Sensor monitoring every 6 months. O.D's mom told us his vet team "is pleased with his insulin numbers and he's as healthy as a diabetic dog can be!"
One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is getting to know the incredible dogs (and their devoted humans) who choose our treats. Meet Khloe, this very fashionable girl was diagnosed with diabetes twice!
March 23rd marks National Puppy Day. Old Dog is celebrating the occasion with this pawsome duo and their story. Adopted in 2019, Cameo is one lucky dog. While Cameo is not diabetic her pet parent shares how this lucky dog benefits from our diabetic treats.
