Meet Khloe. Khloe is an adorable 10 year old Maltese (with quite a wardrobe!). She was diagnosed with diabetes twice. Once, in 2023 from steroids. She was put on insulin but her pet parent tells us the diabetes went away when she tapered off the steroids. The doctor could not believe it.
Unfortunately, the diabetes came back in February of last year. Khloe's pet parent tells us it's been a struggle to get her regulated, but after much time they have the correct dosage of insulin figured out. It's just Khloe and her pet parent, so in the beginning giving her the injections was beyond challenging. She had a vet tech come to her home to help, but after some time Khloe's mom got the hang of it. She says Khloe is cooperative....mostly :)
Initially Khloe's doctor said NO TREATS, but Khloe's mom had to find something that was diabetic friendly.
